Potter owl #2 is carrying a large silver tin to the headmaster. Enclosed is the following letter:

Dear Albie,

It has been far too long since we last talked! I don't believe I've sent you a pie since your last birthday! I hope everything is going well--I'm sure Hogwarts is thriving as always.

This time it's apple! Happy birthday, and thanks again for taking care of Jamesy.

Mrs Potter,

I must apologise for not have written sooner. I fear I have spent the majority of the past week in the school infirmary, though I can honestly say it was not due to the excellent apple pie with which you gifted me. Thank you very much for both the pie and the birthday wishes.

Both Hogwarts and myself are blooming. Thank you again for asking. I shall do my best to nurture your son's mind as well as seeing to his physical needs, and do let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I remain,
