Mum,

I hope you're in a better mood--I have some news that should make you feel better.

Sirius and I were just discussing your pies, and he was talking about how much he loved them. He said he could live off them. I told him I could too. Everyone agrees--you make the greatest pies ever. Remus loves your chocolate pies, and Peter likes your, uh, cherry pies.

You like them, right? Make us happy. Send us the greatest pies in the world. Please, mum?

Plenty for all of you! A cherry, a chocolate, blueberry, an apple, and of course an artichoke pie! I'll send a few more next time you write to me about that Lucille ~~or whatever her name is.~~

Could you send some chocolate stuff? Remus is sick, and he really needs some chocolate. He said that your cooking is better than any store ever, so...

And Sirius wants some strawberry pie. Send me some more of that artichoke, too, please. ~~It's growing on me, but don't tell Sirius!~~

Lily's fine. Marvelous. Any advice on romantic things to give her? Roses are corny.

The Potter owls better have health insurance--this one's also weighed down by multiple tins that are filled with sweets.

Of course, dear. A pie in each flavor (strawberry, chocolate, artichoke), a chocolate cake, chocolate muffins, chocolate-covered fruit...I think this should keep you boys occupied for a few days!

I think you should send her lilies--it's her name, and they're romantic. ~~I wish your father sent me flowers...~~ How is that relationship going?

Still haven't convinced her to go out with you? Had the same trouble with your mother. Rejected me 1,000 times before she finally agreed. It's a Potter tradition. Your son will probably get rejected a thousand times, too!

Send her a stuffed animal, and a card that says something mushy. You know what girls like...make her think you're sensitive. Or something.

I'm glad you're safe at school. Your mother is trying to invent new flavors...and I've had to use the diet excuse all week.

You only have a few hundred more rejections to go, so don't give up!
